1993: Turbocor started as an R&D company in Australia with an international team of designers and engineers working to bring high efficiency compressor technology to heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration's (HVACR) middle market.
1999: Turbocor moves to Montreal to become a North American operating business with corporate headquarters, stage-one manufacturing plant, testing and engineering labs, and training facility.
2001: Beta test sites across North America prove that Turbocor compressors are ready for market introduction.
2002: The Turbocor compressors go to market as reliable, quiet, energy-efficient, and low maintenance alternatives to conventional oil-lubricated compressors for mid-range HVAC applications.
2003: Turbocor compressors go to market internationally as a reliable, quiet, energy-efficient, and low maintenance alternative to conventional lubricated compressors. Turbocor wins the prestigious ASHRAE/AHR expo "Energy Innovation" Award and Natural Resources Canada's Energy Efficiency Award.
2004: Turbocor launches its Aftermarket/Retrofit business working with key service contractors to provide a highly efficient, low maintenance alternative to existing building owners through its National Service Contractor Network. Turbocor is awarded the highly coveted Climate Protection Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
2004: Denmark-based Danfoss A/S and Montreal-based Turbocor Inc. formed a 50/50 joint venture to be named Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. This new joint venture has the combined resources of a worldwide powerhouse like Danfoss and the innovative genius of Turbocor. This combination opens the door wide to a bright future for this state-of-the-art, high efficiency, oil-free compressor technology.
2006: Danfoss Turbocor expands its product range to the new TT400 for larger capacity equipment and it’s TR300M for medium temperature applications. This now allowed for a much broader market penetration to the HVAC&R Industries. Danfoss Turbocor is awarded the Prestigious Frost & Sullivan Award for Compressor Technology Leadership.
2007: To cope with the growing demand for its product and as part of its expansion program Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. relocated its headquarters and manufacturing into a much larger purpose built facility in Tallahassee, Florida.
